Card services
We offer services ranging from basic assessments and in-depth pre-grading to basic and full card restoration. Whether you want to give your card the best possible chance at a top grade or simply want to clean it up for your binder, we've got you covered.
Start here: Assessment — £6 per card
Everything starts with an assessment. Your card is examined under magnification and you get a straight answer to three questions:
- What would it grade as it stands?
- Can we improve it, and by roughly how much?
- Is it worth the money, or are you better leaving it alone?
That’s £5 plus VAT. If you go ahead with any service, it comes off the price. If the honest answer is to do nothing, you’ve spent six pounds instead of a grading fee.
Restoration
Every card is assessed before we accept it for restoration. That's not a formality. It's how we make sure we can actually do the job, and how you find out in advance what the realistic outcome looks like.
Sometimes the answer is that we can improve a problem without erasing it entirely. That's still worth doing. Restoration isn't only about chasing a 10 — on vintage cards especially, taking something from a 6 to an 8 is a significant jump in both grade and value. We'll tell you which of those you're looking at before you commit.

Watch it happen. Full restorations can be recorded through the microscope, or live streamed to you while we work. Ask when you book and we'll set it up. It's your card — there's no reason you shouldn't see exactly what's being done to it.
Grading preparation
We're not a grading company, and we don't send cards away on your behalf. What we do is everything that happens before your card reaches one, so that when you post it, it's right.

Centring measured front and back. Surface, edges and corners checked under magnification. You get a written report with a predicted grade range and, more usefully, the specific defect holding the card back. It comes back to you grade-ready: fresh sleeve, seated in a semi-rigid, packed with shipping savers. Open the box, take our report out, put your submission form in, seal it and post it. Nothing left to do but address the label. |

Everything here is priced per card, and the discount applies to all of it — assessment, restoration and screening, in any combination. Send five cards for five different things and it still counts.
Rush — double the service fee. Your card goes to the front of the queue.
We’re VAT registered, so every price above is shown both ways: the figure you pay, and the same figure before VAT. If you’re a business or a dealer, say so when you book and we’ll issue a full VAT invoice for your records.
How we work
We don't add anything to a card and we don't take anything away from it.
No cutting or trimming. No recolouring or ink. No adhesives, no fillers, no coatings. We won't carry out any process that would definitively mark a card as altered, whatever result it might get you.
What we do is cold restoration — safe, natural methods worked patiently, using nothing the card didn't arrive with. It's slower than the alternatives and that's the point. Rushing paper is how you turn one problem into two.
Our promise when we sell
We sell cards here too, so this matters.
If a card in our shop has had any work done to it, we will tell you. Every time, on the listing and in the cabinet, whether or not you ask.
We know restoration divides opinion in this hobby, and we're not interested in arguing anyone round. Some collectors want a card brought back, some want it exactly as it was found. Both are completely valid positions and we're here to serve both. What we will never do is let you buy a card without knowing exactly what you're buying.
